The levels of Knighthood in the Knights of the Order of the Risen Savior are:
Knight Apprentice (KAOtRS)
This is the entry
level rank of the Order of the Risen Savior and must be achieved before a higher rank may be bestowed. In order to qualify for this rank the individual must pledge themselves to daily study of the Bible. The Knight Apprentice should follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to prayerfully
decide what part or parts of the Bible to study each day. The Knight Apprentice
realizes that only through dedicated study may they grow as a Christian and only through this growth may they advance to the
upper Order. In addition, the Knight Apprentice must pledge to the spreading
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by virtue of Christian living, evangelism, and acts of kindness and benevolence. The Knight Apprentice that the true Christian is always looking for ways to become more knowledgeable of
Scripture, to spread the love of Christ and demonstrate daily acts of kindness. It
is through these actions that they can advance as Christians, individuals, and as Knights.
The Knight Apprentice must hold this rank for a period of six (6) months before advancing to a higher level of Knighthood.
Duties
of this Rank: The duties of this rank involve the personal improvement of
the character of the recipient through the voluntary, but strongly encouraged, adherence to the disciplines of this rank.
Disciplines
of this Rank: The discipline of this rank involves daily Bible study with the aim of self-improvement and building of
Christian character. Knights of this order are encouraged to keep a journal of
their daily study following the suggested guide:
1. Daily scheduled Bible study of a Biblical
passage ranging anywhere from a single verse to a complete chapter.
2. Study should be pursued with an eye towards
how each passage relates to the Knight and his/her self-improvement.
3. Journal entries should address the following
questions which the Knight should endeavor to answer:
a. How does this passage relate to
me?
b. How can I apply this passage to improving
my personal character?
c. How can I practice what I’ve
learned in my daily activities so that it reflects on my Christian character?
Spiritual
Weapons of this Rank: The Spiritual weapons of this rank are the Shod Food and the Sword of the Spirit, which are explained
in the following Bible verses:
“…and
with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” Ephesians 6:15
“…and
the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6:17
Lord (Lady) Knight (LKOtRS)
This is the upper
level rank of the Order of the Risen Savior. The candidate for this rank must
already hold the rank of Knight Apprentice (KAOtRS). In addition to the qualifications
for Knight Apprentice, the Lord or Lady Knight must pledge themselves to utilize every opportunity to spread the Gospel of
our Risen Savior Jesus to whomever they meet. The Lord (Lady) Knight should be
active in some form of ministry to the local community. The Lord (Lady) Knight
realizes that the true Christian is always looking for opportunities to tell others of the greatness of Jesus Christ and will
use whatever is at their disposal to do so. The Lord (Lady) Knight knows that
only through the study and spreading of God’s Word can they mature as Christians.
Duties
of this Rank: The duties of this rank, in addition to the duties of the proceeding rank, involve the regular, daily practice
of charitable acts through the voluntary, but strongly encouraged, adherence to the disciplines of this rank.
Disciplines
of this Rank: The disciplines of the rank, in addition to the discipline of the proceeding rank, involve the diligent
practice of charity to others. This can range from the practice of courteous
and considerate behavior towards those we encounter in our daily lives to the more involved charitable acts. The disciplines include scheduled daily prayer, the practice of compassion, and the enthusiastic evangelization
of our Risen Savior Christ Jesus. Knight of this rank are encouraged to keep
a journal of their daily activities following this suggested guide:
1. Daily, disciplined practice of courteous
and charitable activity as described above.
2. Note should be made as to the time, place,
and circumstances of the activity.
3. Journal entries should address the following
questions to which the Knight should endeavor to answer:
a. What courteous or charitable activity
did this situation require of me?
b. Did my actions fit the situation properly?
c. Did I do the most I could in this
situation, or did I do the least? (Be honest).
d. Is there anything I should have done differently,
now that I can look back on my actions?
e. Did my actions reflect my Christian
beliefs and faith so that Christ was glorified?
4. Make a record of your time spent in prayer,
and the topics on which you prayed. Remember, prayer for others take precedence
over prayer for yourself, but don’t neglect to take your own needs to the Lord as well.
5. Don’t shy away from situations that
call for compassion, but seek them out. Record the times, places, and situations
in which your practiced compassion and examine your response. Ask yourself how
you could have done better, but don’t neglect to not when you’ve done all you could to the best of your ability.
6. It’s especially important to keep
a journal of your evangelical activities, as you will learn which are most effective for you.
Seek to answer these questions to learn how to be a more effective evangelist:
a. Did I take advantage of every opportunity?
b. Was I prepared materially with such materials
as tracts or an available Bible?
c. Was I prepared mentally with answers
to Biblical questions/
d. Was I prepared emotionally and spiritually
through regular scheduled prayer for the demands of evangelical activities?
e. Did I reflect the love of Christ,
or did I do something that may have caused the individual to actually “tune-out” the message?
f. Did my actions lead someone
to Christ? (If so, Praise God!)
Spiritual
Weapons of this Rank: The Spiritual weapons of this rank, in addition to those of the proceeding rank, are the Helmet
of Salvation, to discipline our minds to act properly, and the Breastplate of Righteousness, to open our hearts to the troubles
and discomforts of others. Other included Spiritual weapons are Spiritual prayer and the Shield of Faith. These are represented to us in the following Bible verses:
“Take the Helmet
of Salvation…” Ephesians 6:17
“…with
the Breastplate of Righteousness in place…” Ephesians 6:14
“And pray in
the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and requests.” Ephesians 6:18
“In addition
to all this, take up the Shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Ephesians
6:16

a diligent maintenance of your evangelizing journal along with a regular review of its entries will help make you a dynamic,
charismatic, and effective evangelist of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
