What’s Your Choice?
Have you ever
had one of those times that you really didn’t know where to turn when you needed something or just needed someone to
talk to? Do you find yourself feeling listless and not really having any direction
in your life or know where you are headed or why? Do you feel like everything
that you do is falling apart and crashing down around you? Do you just need someone
that you can trust and confided in, someone who will love you unconditionally – no matter whom you are or what you have
done? Do you feel there is no hope at all?
There is a
person who loves you and will listen to you whenever and wherever you may be. He
can give you comfort, direction, and love. He is not just a historical figure
but a real live person. Who am I talking about?
I am talking about God. I am talking about His Son Jesus Christ. In the Bible in the John 3:16-17 we are told, “For
God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have
eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” OK, I know that everyone has probably heard this verse
before but what does it mean to me? OK, let change it a bit to make it more personal
because believer it or not it was written just for you. “For God
loved you so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that if you believe in him you will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to
judge you, but to save you
through him (Jesus).”
God love you no matter
who you are or what you have done. He doesn’t care if you’re rich
or poor, educated or just plain dumb as a box of rocks. He loves you for who
you are. He created you special and unique.
Jeremiah 1:5 says; “Before I formed you in the womb
I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” He
knew you before you were born. He will give you strength and direction for your
life. Everyone will one day stand before God and have to answer for everything
they have or have not done in this life. Hebrews 4:13 tells us, “Nothing
in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way
we have lived.” Do you know where you stand in relation to
God right now?
Now you may ask how
you choose God and Jesus. What do you need to do?
Are there some mystical words that must be said? No, actually it’s
very simple. Romans 10:9 say, “If you confess with your mouth
that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” It’s that simple. “Confess”
means that you tell everyone that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. The
Apostle Peter said to Jesus, “You are the Christ the Son of the Living God.” We need to make that same confession of faith. Repentance
of you sins means that you turn away from them and not live like that any longer.
If you have not accepted
Jesus as Lord and Savior I strongly encourage you to do so right now, this moment, as you may not ever get the chance again. You never know when it’s your time to go and if you die without choosing Jesus
you will loose out on everything, to include forgiveness. If you die before accepting
Jesus how will you answer when it’s your time to stand before God? Choose
life and love eternal. Choose Christ.
